After 35 years working in the private sector, on October 3rd, 2014, Gary Monetti founded Monetti & Associates, LLC. The idea stemmed from two compelling factors. The first being requests from several private sector companies asking for his assistance developing their FirstNet pursuit strategy. The second was the apparent decline in private sector investment in full time business development and capture overhead as well as Telecom, IT & Cyber Security engineers. There appeared to be a new market dynamic unfolding where these services could be provided on an as needed “outsourced” basis. It is with this in mind and a strong network of business and engineering professionals (“Associates”) the new business was founded. Below are some of the initial capabilities. The company’s first contract was secured in November 2014 with Exelis Inc. (former ITT and now part of the Harris corporation) to provide Public Safety consulting services, proposal support, strategic partnering and general advisory services on the FirstNet pursuit. Monumental in scope, size and mission, FirstNet will be the single ubiquitous network to deliver broadband data capabilities on a dedicated LTE network for Public Safety entities. The program is being executed out of the Department of Commerce National Telecommunication Information Administration (NTIA) and is estimated at being valued at approximately $45 billion over the 15 year contract period.
