In 2013, PSCR initiated a deliberate R&D effort to better understand what technology investments are necessary to help transition public safety data, video, and voice communications from the Land Mobile Radio (LMR) environment to a nationwide Long Term Evolution (LTE) broadband network. Since kicking off this effort, PSCR has held two stakeholder meetings that have informed the development of a Location-Based Services roadmap that will project the evolution of this technology over the next 20 years.
Analytics is the second of several roadmaps PSCR will develop over the next several years. PSCR prioritized Analytics because it demonstrated high leveragability, feasibility, impact, and return on investment to the public safety community. After conducting the Analytics and other roadmaps, PSCR will identify, prioritize and launch formal R&D projects. Monetti and Associates was a contributing member of this working group who have since wrapped up this valuable work.
