Washington, D.C., where we do Smart Cities consulting

Helping agencies, industry and academia propel into the future of Smart Cities through access to Federal grant dollars and compelling business partners.

Since 2014 Monetti and Associates has worked closely with the Executive Office of the President, Office of Science and Technology Policy team responsible for the Smart Cities initiatives, a key component of the Presidents Technology Innovation Strategy. The White House has released $160m in federal research funding in January of 2016 for new research. The White House will leverage more than 25 new technology collaborations to help local communities tackle key challenges such as reducing traffic congestion, fighting crime while fostering economic growth, managing the effects of climate change and improving the overall delivery of citizen facing city services. $35 million of the $160m will be distributed as grants and managed across several Federal Government agencies. $70 million in new spending and over $45 million in proposed investments will be made available to unlock new solutions in telecommunications, safety, energy, climate preparedness, transportation and health. All of which will be born out of the Internet of Things (IoT).

Whether you’re a local municipality, industry provider or academia, we can help you understand how to access the grant money while connecting you with the right technology partners to serve Smart City requirements. We can help you with the planning associated with deploying broadband ultra-small 4G & 5G LTE wireless technologies that will act as the underpinning communications foundation to connect the Internet of Things and other sensor technology that Smart Cities will be so heavily reliant upon. We can also help you create a well-planned phased approach to implementing Smart City assets in a way that benefits citizens and the Public Safety community that keeps them safe. We can help you develop a strategic plan for forging a path forward across this exciting new frontier driven by American ingenuity.
